a small repair can make a major difference

Community Home Repair Program

Habitat for Humanity of Lincoln County serves homeowners across Lincoln County, Oregon. The  home repair program helps low-income families address critical needs in their homes by focusing on health, safety, and  accessibility .  The program will help preserve and ensure safe, decent, and affordable housing in our community as well as assist seniors to age in place.

Funding for our repair program comes from several different sources, and many of those funding sources operate on their own timelines and terms. This means that not every home, or homeowner, will qualify outright simply because there is funding available.

HFHLC's  programs are not designed to be an emergency or crisis-based resource. This program does not cover manufactured homes built prior to 1976 nor recreational vehicles (motor homes, fifth wheels, etc.).

HFHLC may be able to make a referral to an alternative program, however, we can make no guarantees as to if or when a given home can or will be served by our program.

ALERT: There are fake social media ads claiming that Habitat for Humanity is giving away free services (i.e., roof replacements, bathroom remodel, etc.). This is a scam. If you see any fake social media post, please report them to Facebook (or whatever social media platform the scammers used to post this misinformation). Contact our Repair Program, whenever in doubt, to get the most accurate information. Always verify sources before clicking any links. Never provide personal or financial information to unverified sources.

How do I get involved?

First and foremost: This program typically has a waiting period. No homeowner will be forwarded an application on the spot.

In order to receive an application, you must submit an inquiry with the program. Submitting an inquiry registers you in our inquiry database so that you will receive an application directly from HFHLC at a time when we have funding available that is applicable to your home's needs as you've described them.

There are no exceptions to this policy. Only households in our inquiry database will receive applications.

If you have already submitted a program inquiry via the link below, rest assured that you are registered in our system. If you would like to confirm inquiry status at any time or provide updates to the information submitted, please do so by reaching out to us at the contact information at the bottom of this page.

How do I know if I might qualify?

An additional component of determining a home’s eligibility is a home visit to assess the home’s suitability for HFHLC’s program capabilities.

Please note that some homes, dependent on the funding source anticipated, will be subject to additional levels of review and qualification such as radon and lead testing, and environmental review.

In order to be considered eligible, applicant(s):

Must be unable to perform repairs themselves and/or be unable to pay someone to do the repairs .

Must be willing to partner with HFHLC by upholding the terms of the program agreement with HFHLC, and being responsive, helpful, and hospitable.

Must be a Lincoln County homeowner and currently reside in the home.
Homeowner must have lived in the home for a minimum of two years prior to applying.
